The Franc Le Maine property is located south-east of the village of Saint-Laurent des Combes on sandy soil. The vast majority of the vines are Merlot with some additional Cabernet Franc.
The wine has a good tannic structure, balanced by substantial acidity. At this point, the fruit is the strongest impression; pure, intense and velvety on the palate. Overall, it is fleshy and the subtle vanilla of the finish reveals the sophisticated ageing it has undergone.
