Ninkasi is not a Japanese sushi or a famous geisha! In Sumerian mythology, Ninkasi is the name of the goddess of beer!


Initiated by 3 young graduates in 1997, Ninkasi was born from the idea of bringing the American micro-brewery concept to France and initiating the craft beer movement. The project started in Lyon, the national brewing capital of the 19th century. An old factory was then transformed into a unique living space with a beer factory, a restaurant, and a concert hall.


Today, Ninaksi is the largest craft brewery in France distributed nationally with a wide presence and a vibrant image thanks to its unique bar concept developed across the country with 25 locations.


An early comer to the French whisky scene, Ninkasi started its first production in 2015 when Alban Perret, distiller and winemaker joined the team.
The brewery first equipped itself with two traditional Charentais copper pot stills and used its brewing experience to produce their version of a “Lyonnais” whisky.


After 8 years of trial and error and massive investments in unique alambics, Ninkasi released Ninalys Single Malt Whisky, a beautiful expression, and a masterclass for French whiskeys.
